Datura, Purple

Plant type : Annual (But often re-seeds itself)

Description: Tall shrub like flower will grow from seed to 5' in one season. Purple trumpet shaped flowers attracts hummingbirds, but can only be seen from dusk to dawn.

Uses: Use as a hummingbird attractor

Propagating: Harvest spiky seed pods in fall or when pods have turned brown and slightly crack open. I also suggest that you use gloves to harvest these pods as they will prick you! Sow seeds indoors or out in ½ deep.
