Castor Bean

Description: Excellent burgundy-green foliage makes this a very attractive border plant. Leaves are 6-10' in diameter and very showy. Flower heads are  showy spikes of brighter burgundy-red. Seeds can be very poisonous to humans and some domestic animals.  

Uses: Excellent background border plant

Propagating: Harvest seeds in late fall when beans are fully developed. Do not allow anyone to eat these for they are highly toxic. Sow seeds in spring after frost danger ½-1" deep.
