Black Eyed Susan: (Maryland State Flower)

Description: These little beauties have  wonderful yellow petals, with a brown center spherical center measuring 2 to 3 inches in diameter.. Black-Eyed Susans are perennial daisies or coneflowers, members of the sunflower family (Asteraceae).  Commonly found in fields and on roadsides, they bloom between May and August, reaching 2 to 3 feet in height. They are native to the United States, east of the Rocky Mountains

Propagating:   Harvest seeds when flower petals have fallen, or have turned brownish in color. Germination: 7-30 days  Sowing depth: 1/16" Average planting success with this species: 80%
